What is WORK?

When physics uses the term work, it refers to some value that describes how effective a force is able to move the object according to the direction of that force. This is the formula:

Work-formula1

The technical way of computing this is to:

  1. Multiply the force F with the displacement of the object s.
  2. Compute the cosine of the angle between F and s.
  3. Finally, multiply what you get what you got from #1 and #2.
